Well-chosen anecdotes aside, a comparison of overall voting patterns, military participation rates, and plain old patriotism leaves your "white trash" (white Southerners/Appalachians) looking pretty good compared with the rest of the country, not to mention with Hispanic immigrants and their progeny.
