Look, I don't agree with Buffett, but if he volunteered to be MY PERSONAL financial advisor, do you think I'd say no?

Sometimes it is useful to have conflicting voices so that you know that opponents will say, and what potholes to avoid. If all you have are "yes men," you have no seriously-thought-out program.

That said, Buffett is a mini-marxist, and he would not have been my choice for an "inside critic."

There also could be other reasons for Arnold picking Buffett. in the WSJ interview Buffett also talked about some deal that Davis offered to Berkshire Hathaway, to buy CA bonds. Buffett didn't take the deal, but maybe with Arnold at the helm he might, which would help CA.

Many times people don't see the big picture (through no fault of their own, just that there are a lot of things that could be and frequently are going on in the background), it's like the blind men and the elephant.

As I said before,I think Arnold is much smarter and more savvy and more conservative, than people give him credit for.

I hope you would say no. People like Buffett would never help anyone voluntarily (IMHO). The old "if-it-sounds-too-good-to-be-true, (it-probably-isn't!)" addage would really apply here.

I think the only reason he got into the fray in California politics was the irresistable urge to get his hands into the taxpayer's cookie jar. The ability to INFLUENCE and DIRECT fiscal outcomes is the blood-in-the-water that sharks like Buffet are attracted to.

That Buffett is a mini-marxist is a good observation on your part! I would only add that he is a mini-marxist-ELITIST.

Colin Powell has often said dumb things concering policy without clearing the with George W.

Not smart.

Buffet is blabbing his mouth off on policy before Arnold clears it or even gets elected.

One thing you must do if you are #1

Tell all your volunteers and all the hired PR people to clear everything with you before breathing a single word.

Tell them if they open their traps just once they are history.

Buffet not only sucked up Ah-Noldt's oxygen and gave his supporters a big pause, he attempted to eclipse his new boss.

I'd bounce his egotistical butt outta there to show the his staff, the media, his political opponents, and the voters who is #1.

There can be only one.
