The principal difference between "None Dare Call It Treason" and "Treason" was not in sophistication, nuance, erudition, persuasiveness, or literary quality, but in the expanded capacity of conservatives to disseminate the word far and wide through their own alternative media and in the elevation by the mainstream media of the extremist as entertainer.

This is an astonishing admission - presumably, documented and verifiable evidence of communist subversion at the height of the cold war is important stuff. But he seems most concerned this somehow leaked.

"Liberals" hold free speech as one of our cherished freedoms, as long as they get to define the terms of the debate and control the outcome. It's plain to see that leftists are wedded to a highly authoritarian "we know what's best" dogma which is bad enough but are simultaneously profoundly incapable of tolerating contrary views. This worked for a number of years when they controlled virtually all forms of public media. Those days are gone forever, and they know it.

Never read "None Dare Call It Treason." Now that you pointed out Sidney's glowing endorsement, I'll have to find a copy.

Yup...their days are numbered. I remember when they would denigrate a book or a person and it was too much of a hassle to find out more information. Now that information is one click away. Maybe two.
