When you love someone - really love someone you want to keep them alive as long as there is there is life. Terri is not in pain - she is not suffering from an incurable disease. She is alive. The parents love her and have hope for her. The money was awarded so that she could continue to live and possibly benefit from sceientific breakthroughs.

I'm reading your post again and I am getting angrier and angrier..If you really love someone, you want to do what's best for them, not what's best for you. Would you want to live like that for 13 years? I want an honest answer.

My son loves life.

He lives it to the fullest.

His motor dev. due to birth injuries has left him at the stage of a newborn in an adult body.

He chooses life.

You see Hildy your exp. with your father is very different than others who have loved ones that choose life no matter how disabled they are.

Your father had a right to choose to pass on at a stage of a terminal illness. My son chooses life due to a brain injury from birth. Very different circumstances but the bottom line is each has/had the right to choose.
