Wow! What an example of pure asininity at university level! I like classical music and folk, but I despise liberals and their commie ideologies.

What is the definition of an optimist? . . . . . .

An accordian player with a pager.

That is a great point.

My survey reveals that the Wiggles and Barney are overwhelming favorites of young people today.

My sample was my 2 pre-school children.

In fact Beethoven was present, but it was Mozart who produced the score.

Myself... I think they both had help from John Williams.

Supposedly, according to another study, you're more likely to be mentally ill, due to your wide variations in musical taste over one afternoon.

That said, I've been known to go from a classical music CD straight to a hardcore punk one. ;-)

##-years-ago Metallica (St. Anger bores me, but I digress),##

How about Load and re-load? Hero of the day rocks!

But, anyway, this is obviously a load of crap. They probably used too small of a test group to get decent results, and failed include too many things (ie, people who have broad tastes, pop, techno, etc).

Notice that they don't have anything negative to say about any of the music (let's face it, rap listeners tend to be goons) This is sign #1 that this 'study' was done by some PC liberal. Also, notice how it specifically states that two groups are liberal, but fails to call country music listeners conservative. They're "conventional". BS.

Hmm...I like bluegrass, Celtic (I suppose they'd call that folk?), jazz, old time (also folk?), country, some 50's and 60's rock and pop, Celtic rock, bagpipes, classical (including opera), show tunes....

I guess according to their study, I'm a very confused person.

Hey...wait a minute...

Ok, that does it! I've resigned myself to being totally out of the loop. Of all those waste-of-tax-$ studies out there, I never fit into a category. Give me a few 60's, throw in some old time Rock and Roll (bass turned up), add some instramental (Mangione), and top it off with some classical (Tchaikovsky).

and if you like Fleetwood Mac, your are a lying president who will be impeached......

I like Blues and Classical, but am NO LIBERAL.

I like some religious music, but am not always cheerful.

I hate rap, don't believe it is music, and find it HARD to believe that those who like rap are always AGREEABLE.

As a boomer I don't like much of today's music. I listen to talk radio and watch the tube. If I want music I get out my dusty old "record-player" (a device that took vinyl discs and a diamond needle to make sounds) and play Smetena's "Moldau", or the "Three Cornered Hat" by de Falla, or Creedence Clearwater Revival "Born on the Bayou"

Two groups for you to consider... "Runrig" and older "Big Country".

Freepmail me and I will hook you up with a Runrig song if you want...
