"While Hanssen escaped detection for more than 20 years, we found that this was not because he was a master spy or because of any expert knowledge of espionage tradecraft.

Much of Hanssen's conduct while committing espionage was reckless.

We found that significant deficiencies in the FBI's internal security program played a major role in Hanssen's willingness and ability to commit espionage over such a lengthy period of time."

Also, time to get rid of pretty boy lawyer agents(like the 40 yr old retirees on TV) ang et some badass field agents like DOG Chapman. PC and AA don't help either.

I knew a few agents. Should have been accountants.

Hanssen was an unlikely spy. However, the bureau seems to have operated under a charming but incredibly stupid naivete.

Personally I never saw any charm but lots of stupidity. How about them turning 900 personnel files illegally over to Hillary's hatchetman? The networks predictably are trying to paint Hanssen as the typical loving family man and father role model. I would like to see his sorry arse removed to Gitmo with the other America haters... It would set an example for other tempted FBIers.
