PR03:365 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 08/14/2003
GOVERNOR DAVIS ANNOUNCES THE POWER OUTAGES ON THE EAST COAST POSE NO THREAT TO THE CALIFORNIA POWER GRID 08/14/2003
SACRAMENTO Governor Gray Davis made the following statement today regarding the power outages on the East Coast: "My office has been briefed by the CAL ISO, and we have been assured the California electrical grid is not at risk. I have ordered the CHP, the Office of Homeland Security, and the National Guard to take all necessary actions to ensure California's electrical grid continues to function effectively. According to the ISO, we face no such dangers in California. Because we have added 6,000 MW of new power in the past three years, we are not vulnerable if one major power plant goes out of service. Other than airline delays because of the closure of airports in several cities, we do not expect Californians to be affected by this power outage." |

"I have ordered the CHP, the Office of Homeland Security, and the National Guard to take all necessary actions to ensure California's electrical grid continues to function effectively."
Translation - "I'm using this as an excuse to give them more money so they will vote for me. This overtime will cause billions of dollars deficit. It's all Bush's fault - any wonder he was in CA and not in NY when it happened ? Why didn't he fly back there immediately ? He didn't light a single candle for an old person, or to allow a child to do their homework ! "

Grayout probably wanted to see what it felt like to speak during a power crisis that wasn't of his own doing, and that didn't directly affect his voting base.

"Yes, remind the voters of the California power crisis. That'll help your poll numbers!!"Finally...............had to get through a dozen responses before somebody hit it.
Further evidence that Davis' staff have tin political ears. Whatever he's paying them to think for him, he's paying them FAR too much.

I feel so much better knowing Gov. Doofus is on the job.

Rumor has it that davis cornered the market on 'D' (D is for demonrat) cell batteries and will not hesitate to plug them all into the Cali grid at once if the need arises.

Translation: "Even my monumental incompetence can't make this into a problem for California."

Considering how much bigger a D battery is than an A battery, I wonder how big an R battery is?

What a relief it is to know that WAY DEVIOUS is right on top of the problem. I'll surely sleep better, tonight. In a local Sacramento radio interview today, an official of the CAL ISO stated that the western power grid is not physically connected to the eastern power grid. It looks like Mr. Devious will be trying to take credit for anything that goes right. Makes me want to barf...

I dare you to prove him wrong by sticking your finger in a light socket and shorting out the system...

'R' batteries are much much BIGGER. Unfortunately for grayout davis, he and his demonrat party banned them from kalifornia because they are homophobic, mean spirited, child starving, old folk medicine denying fascist batteries.
To: Brad's Gramma
See, I told you he said that.
I guess he is trying to take credit that this didn't happen in California.
By the same token will he take responsibility for the next earthquake in CA?
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
Brad's Gramma was talking to Davis, not you.
I posted the essence of that report earlier, one of the TV stations reported it.
I think she just doesn't like Davis -- can't imagine why. ;)
