I doubt that. My daughter called from NYC 45 minutes ago and said everyone had left the office buildings and were standing calmly in the streets. The hospital she works at has their generators running.

Just reporting what the radio announcer said, they said their reporter got cut off because of the supposed panic. People on the scene definitely would be able to give a better report, but with the power down that is difficult for most to do.
