This time California is threatening to prohibit the 4H Club, a club formed to promote awareness and appreciation for agriculture through activities and education, from participating in a community fair because they have not reached racial quotas.
PING

Both the Left and the Right believe that Race will destroy this country. But the Right says it with sadness -- and the Left says it with a smile.

The bottom line is that the 4H-ers in California are predominantly from the inland, farming areas, and the percentage of "minorities" in those locales is very, very low.
This is ludicrous, to say the least.
To: The Rant
What? Well, yes, of course there are hoes on the farm. It'll have to be 5H, then. Head, Heart, Hands, Health, and Ho's.
To: The Rant
This is why our state is in trouble - every single nut case or group of nutcases with an agenda has their viewpoint considered as though it means saving humanity from itself.
Perhaps they could rename the organization: 4-H club for gay, lesbian, transgender, black, latino animals?
That is where we are in CA.

Was the President of my local 4-H Club in elementary school. Good organization with good values for children. Unfortunately, this article displays another stupid example of carrying racial diversity too far.
To: The Rant
Lets hope that the statistical bubbleheads that are demanding these quotas (quotas didnt the Supreme Court have something to say about racial quotas?) The sad fact is that you still have to bring suit in court to get a Supreme Court edict ENFORCED. These 'civil servants' know that they can ram this stuff down our throats and wait for us to sue them at our own expense. Echhh!

4H is dying as is FFA. The Grange has a new program to replace it but the article for it is not on the web site yet. I will post as separate thread when it shows up.

I'd rant as well. Are they telling me that African American farmers don't enroll their kids in 4H? THis is stupid. In parts of VA and TX, they wouldn't successfully field 4H programs if they excluded black or hispanic children. Those ARE the people who happen to own the land in those regions.
CA needs to take the red pill insted of the blue one.

My daughter has joined Grange here in San Diego. It is an organization which began in the late 1860's and is growing fast.
She'll be going to the Antelope County Fair and I know that her Grange group is not diversified!

To: farmfriend
4H is dying as is FFA.Really? I grew up on the farm and participated in 4H and FFA big time. I grew pigs and cattle. But that was over 20 years ago and I live in the city and am out of touch.
Are you serious about that statement?

Are you serious about that statement? Yes, I am serious. The government is destroying these two wonderful programs that the Grange started. That is why people like It's me are joinging Grange again. Our youth fair program has been replacing 4H for several years now. We have launched the new Youth for America program. The youth programs in the Grange are not just animals. They include all the stuff you can exibit at the fair. Photography, painting, wood and needle crafts, and essays.
The Grange also has a wonderful political advocacy program. Founded in 1867, the Grange is the oldest general farm and public policy organization in the US.
Here is an example of the wonderful youth we have in the Grange:

Why oh why oh why are they attacking everything that is GOOD in this country? Because they want to destroy this country and everything that is good. Their hearts are filled with evil. They hate life itself -- their god is Satan.
