BATON ROUGE - State Rep. Tony Perkins will take over as president of the Christian right-wing Washington lobbying group Family Research Council.

Perkins, 40, said he will take over Sept. 1 at a salary "in the neighborhood" of $220,000 to be spokesman for the lobby, which is associated with the Rev. James Dobson of Colorado Springs, Colo.

I hope that in taking this sacrifice to "support" marriage that Tony's own marriage does not suffer through the distance and time involved in his new position.

There are many stories around here about Perkins, and they are not very flattering...

...the Rev. James Dobson of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Dobson, a Baptist minister, also heads Focus on the Family...

Dobson is not a "Rev." or a Baptist. Dr. Dobson has a Ph.D. in child development from the University of Southern California.

Where are today's "journalists" coming from -- half way houses for junkies?

"State Rep. Tony Perkins will take over as president of the Christian right-wing Washington lobbying group Family Research Council."

NPR opener on the announcement of Kim Gandy as new N.O.W. President: "Kim Gandy submerged herself in women's rights issues as a new college grad, when she discovered she still needed her husband's signature on a job application. She began working for the National Organization for Women's chapter in Louisiana in 1973 and made steady progress to the top. In June 2001, she was elected NOW's president.

CNN opener on the same announcement: "Delegates to the National Organization for Women convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, chose attorney Kim Gandy as the group's next president, succeeding Patricia Ireland, who has held the post for 10 years."

Nope, no liberal bias in the mainstream media. Uh huh....

See #5. They're all lazy dunces, these so-called journalists.

Aside from the obvious bias from NPR, this is total horsefeathers. I am 51 years old and have never needed my husband's signature on a job application. Neither did my mother.

Why would you go to 'People for the American Way' for information about a conservative, pro-family organization, unless you intended to put a liberal, negative spin on the article? What a pant-load.

But then, N.O.W. and N.A.R.A.L. together almost corner the market on lying. The Saudis, PFAW, and the Human Rights Campaign hold the rest of the stock.
