As for AS hiring/consulting Warren Buffet one of the greatest investment geniuses on Earth, what's wrong with that? One needs to surround himself with financial geniuses like Buffet to fix this giant mess our esteemed Governor saddled us with!

Arnold seems to be forming a dream team of economic minds:

Warren Buffett, Larry Kudlow, Martin Friedman, Steve Forbes.

What's with the Simon bashing ..?? The only thing the guy did wrong was hire a bad campaign manager. That's it! You all act like he committed the worlds worst sin.

My source tells me Simon didn't know his campaign manager was very friendly with the democrat party. Novices in politics make mistakes. Simon is still more conservative than Arnold ever thought of being.

This latest, Buffet, is disgusting. The guy hates Bush.

You are myopic, biased, and confused, it seems to me.

As opposed to the far-seeing, unbiased, and clear-thinking nopardons, of course.

He also has proven ability to sell his programs to the California electorate (regards of whether you like the program, he did get it passed with broad support).

But weren't they more government programs that the taxpayers have to pay for? What Republican leaning causes has he actually participated in, besides campaigning for George senior?

Arnold has succeeded at everything he's tried. He made his first million in real estate well before he ever got into movies. Arnold is one smart cookie and he has been preparing for this entrance into politics for twenty years. He also has been involved in Republican politics for sometime. He actively campaigned for George Bush Senior when doing so was definitely not cool, even in Republican circles.

In addition to his intelligence and drive, he has a rolladex that would probably compete with Bush's. He also has proven ability to sell his programs to the California electorate (regards of whether you like the program, he did get it passed with broad support).

Arnold approaches everything with discipline and determination to win.

He's a great role model and can be a great leader.

He's been a success and he knows it comes from a determined pursuit of a dream.

His praise of America and California is reminiscent of Reagan's city on the hill allegory.

No, as opposed to those who don't make vast, sweeping, judgemental pronounicomentos about everyone else, out of hand and without much thought. ;^)

Idaho is one of the fastest growing states, and most of the new comers are coming from leftist leaning places like California.

Since most in California aren't from California, but are from places like Illinios, Maine, Georgia, Florida, Texas, and Idaho, you shouldn't mind a bit.

Actually, I think you're both right.

As a former Idahoan, I totally understand what you mean about CA transplants. They are numerous. Too many liberals, too.

But nopardons has a point about there probably being a disproportionate number of the transplants who are moving to escape the socialist utopia of Kalifornia.

Well .. Buffet won't like that - he and Steve don't agree on anything. But .. I do like Steve Forbes.

You are right not all Californian are lefties. Most of them move up here to escape. I didn't mean that as a slur to those moving here. I find a huge percent of them to be wonderful people who I welcome with open arms. They are often the hardest workers on Republican campaigns because they know what happened in California.

You sound like a " nimby ", or a Knownothing ( that's the name of an old political party; not a slur ! ), who thinks, well, I've got mine, to heck with the rest of you.

I can't figure out what I said that made you think I feel"the heck with others"?

Didn't Mark Furman move to Idaho ?

Yes he did, but I have no idea what political party he identifies with

.You are myopic, biased, and confused, it seems to me.

biased, and confused about what?I have to admit, I don't know what myopic means.

I won't insult you, it really doesn't add to the conversation.

Arnold is the Democrat ticket

I like the sound of that! I can see a lot of Democrats jumping ship because of AS, at least here in SoCal, who knows we might get a 100% crossover in the NoCal!

I responded to nopardons that that most of the Californians moving up here are coming for our freedom. They are some of the most active in the fight to keep what freedom we still have. I personally hate for so many people to move here because I grew up here and love it to stay the way it was.

Please read you own post #138.

Myopic has a few meanings, the first of which refers to eyesight;nearsightedness.

In a general way,the use of the word " myopic " also means shortsightedness, but in the manner one views things; not sight.

You've now completely down a 180 on your original position, of total flip flop.

The " to heck with others " was an implication, in your post. You are in a mostly Republican state and you don't want anyone else ( inferred ) to emmigrate into YOUR backyard, so to speak, from LIBERAL/LEFTY California; not evenm if they are attempting to escape that and go someplace more in keeping with there own positions; i.e. Idaho.

Please do read your posts. You may not have meant to say/imply what I and others heard you saying, but that IS how you came across.

I believe that Furman is a Republican. I may be incorrect; however, he's been on Sean Hannity's radio show many times and they never fight.Sean usually "fights " with Libs, so I am assuming that Mark isn't one.

Would we support George Clooney if he ran as a republican?

I'm beginning to think so. Gee, if only Stalin had been smart enough to run as a Republican...

Just as a side note for all the Warren Buffet haters. Do you know that "ONE" share of Berkshire-Hathaway (this is Warren Buffet gravy train for you in Rio Linda) is worth in excess of USD 75,000.00,...just one stinking share?

And some of you are telling me/us that WB is not qualified to look into fixing California's financial mess, just because of his political views?...further more comparing him to that leech, Hillary Clinton?

After reading some of the posts on this thread, it just hit me that some of the posters missed their medicine this evenin'

The RINOs are running our Party hard left towards a cliff, and if we don't stop them, the whole country is going to pay the price for many years to come.

Agreed. The Arnold Threat is ideological more than anything else. In terms of conservatism and the internal battle of conservatives against RINOs in the GOP, this is like Pataki or Guiliani but about ten times the threat to conservatives.

He favors gun control, he mocks the Religious Right, he's pro-abortion and pro-gay.

I wonder why people don't see that he's a Democrat. Starry-eyed, I guess.

I reread my 138, and didn't read it the way you must have. I don't see that I have flip flopped at all. I was just trying to straighen out what you took wrong.

When I said Idaho was the most Republican state I was complaining that it really wasn't because many of them are really RINOs.

Truth is I would rather not have the huge amount of people moving here, but I am hospitable to them especially if they are conservatives.

. I am very tired and sorry if you took me wrong.
