Ann's wonderful wit becomes gallows humor when she uses one's home state as a punching bag. The appropriate sound effects are:

Ouch. Ooch. Hey, that hurts! Ummf. (Pow!) Uncle! OUCH! I give up already! (etc.)

PS-- her comments about the "jobless zone" and a work force enticed or forced to work for the state make me willing to believe that she has many friends in California who are busy keeping her informed at the trench level...

Why did you have to go and ruin a perfectly enjoyable Coulter thread, not to mention my appetite?

"At this stage, we couldn't give California back to Mexico. "

We may already have...

"California is the only one of the nation's 10 largest states that is uniformly under Democratic control."

And that should serve as a grave warning to us. We see how well they've managed. < /sarcasm >

"highly respected as one of the new breed of moderate, centrist Democrats"

On what planet?

Davis' fellow Democratic governor, Gary Locke of Washington, called Davis "truly the rising star among governors

Neither Davis nor Locke is rising. The state around each of them is sinking.

...Gov. Gray Davis, was being touted as presidential material...

Oh yes, I remember this well. In the heyday of "let's blame Bush for everything wrong with America even though he's been in office five months", Gray Davis was a darling of the elite media.

How the worm has turned.

great job Ann!

Europe and Canada also qualify as labratories where we can watch Socialism in action as it slowly, but surely leeches the blood of the producing class.

Don't forget Buffalo. I really wish that Rush or Sean would come and do a week of shows in Buffalo explaining to the masses that Buffalo is what you get when you allow the Demonrats to have complete control (which they share of course with the unions). And yet the mind-numbed robotic robots continue to reelect the same idiots that got us in this mess. Amazing.

Both were veterans, after a fashion, of Vietnam, which would make a Gore/Davis presidential ticket the only compelling argument yet in favor of friendly fire.

Okay, that one was over the line. But if Ann lets me give her a back rub, I might forgive her.

Once the machines are up and running, it is...well...have they ever been stopped? Boston, DC, Baltimore, NYC...seems once rats get in, you can't get them out.

Is there a major city in America which was able to reverse the situation?

God but I love that woman. That was a surgical strike. Socialist Utopia achieved yet again. Glad I bailed from CA in 1997.

I was up there for the NY State Republican Party Convention a few years ago.......and I'm from North Carolina (don't ask.......long story). What I learned was that NOBODY lives there. The downtown was by-God empty. It was incredible.

It is incredible. And embarrassing. If McDonald's opens a new restaurant downtown the Governor shows up to cut the ribbon.
