It is not the first time the Boston City Council has ventured into foreign policy. But this time, someone out there is actually taking notice.

Two weeks ago, the council unanimously passed a resolution to recognize the "Heritage and Freedom Flag" as the official symbol of Boston's Vietnamese-American community. That flag, with its yellow background and three red horizontal stripes, is also the old South Vietnamese flag.

God bless the Vietnamese community there. I am 100% behind them on this. Same thing recently happened in VA.

The South Vietnamese flag flies at Canadian Remembrance Day ceremonies - I haven't heard of any controversy...yet!

It's a surprise to me that our pinko Liberal regime in Canuckistan dare not step on veterans' toes on this issue, while Americans are being bullied by their own commie-fightin' government.

I'm glad the folks in Boston stood up!

How 'bout they fly and be proud of the US flag to which I pledge allegience to every morning?

The real flag of the Republic of Viet Nam -- the Viet Nam my best friend's dad gave his life for -- flies proudly all over our town here in Texas. We have a large community here who are tied to Vietnam by ethinicity and culture but who are all proud Americans, and I'd hate to think what they'd do if some asswipe from Commie Central tried to fly the Red Rag of Treachery here.

Last year, the USPS put out brochures in different languages with the corresponding flags on the front to help identify them. Unfortunately, they put the NV flag on the Vietnamese brochures. BIG outcry and they removed the flags from the brochures.

Translation:

"Yes, the Boston government is solidly Communist. But there is a large bloc of former South Vietnamese living here, and we want their vote, so we'll do whatever we have to to get it. We have no moral compass, just greed and selfishness."

I was in San Francisco one day years ago and personally witnessed the flag of the Soviet Union flying over City Hall. It wasn't a prank or some kind of stupid mistake- it was intentional, and was admitted as such.

It was to me, every bit as repugnant as if they'd flown the swastika. To me, they represent approximately the same thing: the murderous, repressive brutality of government without restraint.
