Did you all hear the latest from a report on fox news this morning? The painter (well, other painters have helped...) of numerous paintings located near where Laci was found denies any association with satanism. He said he and other painters bring their families..and basically made the paintings a 'group' project. SP's attys are trying to connect the satanist theory, the paintings w/Laci's death..I know you know that part.

Did you hear about the dyslexic devil-worshipper?

He sold his soul to Santa.

You are absolutely right about Geragos. He's very afraid for the public to hear the damning evidence. That is his entire reason for wanting a closed Prelim. And like you say, for such a media hog, that tells the story. Geragos kinda got cut off at the knees when the Judge gagged them. He was intent on trying this case in the media. Too bad, so sad, you sick POS Geragos!! I don't think Defense Lawyers should be able to "make up" defenses. That sounds really unethical to me. Sure defend your client and get him the best deal but be honorable. He makes me sick!!

Are you sure about that? If some Californians are as flaky as people say they are, people out there who need structures built will probably be paying Bruce extra to paint a little bit of his "artwork" somewhere in their building.

My mind may be in some sort of meltdown, but I can't think of a reason why they COULDN'T admit most of Scott's public statements, even if he never took the witness stand.

Example: A guy commits a crime; the police arrest him, and he ends up giving them a confession under legitimate questioning by them. Those guys' statements get admitted against them... why not Scott's?

Aw shucks. What a shame that the actual painters of these paintings are still around to explain what they were painting. Another strike-out for Geragos.

I gotta admit, you must be onto something there. Geragos avoiding cameras is just such a very unnatural thing. Sort of like if I saw my dog fleeing from a hamburger that had fallen on the ground.

it was thought that the defense attorney who showed a picture of art at the Bulb, upset Judge Girolami by violating the gag order

I can see it now. Trial begins with Geragos and Scott wearing their best suits, while Dalton is sitting at the table with them, wearing jail-issue clothes.

Well, you're right, the prosecution should be able to admit them, if they're relevant. However, even if they're relevant, the court has the discretion to exclude them if their probative value is substantially outweighed by the likelihood that their admission would be unduly time-consuming, would be unduly prejudicial, or would confuse or mislead the jury.

But most of the relevant ones should be admitted.

BTW, have y'all got this case cracked yet? ;-)

I guess Scott was too engrossed in his sturgeon fishing that day to notice the people with the black hoods and robes in the nearby rowboat, dumping pieces of bodies in the bay...

Ah yes, you must be referring to cu-MULE-ative evidence! (Pronunciation footnote: Chris Darden from OJ trial.)

The beauty of it is that he did so much talking on videotape. That way they'll get to see his demeanor, as well as hear his words.

LOL. Yes, that's the one. Much of the time the dispute centers on the un-DUL-y preju-DIC-ial part, too.

You're right, the video portion could be particularly persuasive here. LOL. ;-)
