Schwarzenegger Outcome Could Affect Bush in 2004
(McClintock & Simon to quit?)
Washington Post ^ | Aug. 14, 2003 | Dana Milbank and Mike Allen
Posted on 08/13/2003 8:44 PM PDT by FairOpinion
In the best scenario for Bush, Davis is ousted, Schwarzenegger triumphs with a united Republican vote and California's bleak fiscal situation begins to improve. With the governorship in popular Republican hands, the state's 54 electoral votes, once a lost cause for the GOP, could come within Bush's grasp in 2004.
Alternatively, if Schwarzenegger's candidacy implodes, it could leave the Republicans without an obvious candidate to face reinvigorated Democrats.

In the forgettable movie "Eraser," Arnold strapped on two guns the size of telephone poles for the final battle. Cool! Each gun had a floodlight that lit up the set like movie-premier searchlights wicked cool! Only one problem: When you saw him coming toward you, all you had to do was shoot between the lights.
An apt metaphor, perhaps, for Schwarzenegger's campaign. He's not gunning from the left or the right. What counts is the center, and this is where Arnold resides.

LOS ANGELES When President Bush touches down in southern California Thursday for a fundraising and campaign swing, he will enter the most charged political landscape since the 2000 Florida recount. And for the next two days, he will try to impact it as little as possible.

Napoleon has nothing to do with this discussion. You called Wilson a liberal which is of course, your own opinion, and an opinion not shared by many Republicans.
FYI, Wolson's first election to the CA assembly, was in district 37, a very right-wing district at the time.

Note to Arnie-bots: If Arnold is a "Fiscal Conservative", so is Howard Dean
Various | August 13, 2003 | nwrep

The self-delusion of some star-struck conservatives here is stunning. In the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, they insisted Arnold was a fiscal conservative, just because he said so. This arrogant proclamation, with no evidence to back it up, was enough for these Arnold-bots.
Then today, he dropped a bomb-shell and declared tax-loving, Hillary Clinton supporter Warren Buffett as his economic advisor. When faced with such repudiation of their fantasy, one expects most people to concede their mistake. But not the Arnie-bots. They still insist Arnold is a conservative, just because he has chosen a billionaire to head his economic team. Apparently, to these Arnie-bots, conservatism is a hollow concept, to be equated with the acquisition of wealth. Never mind that some of the most prominent backers of the anti-capitalist, anti-American, anti-conservative group Moveon.org are self-made billionaires.

Did I just read that Pete Wilson was called a liberal? This just gets stranger and stranger as the far right keeps grasping at straws. That is one of the funniest I have read yet -- calling Wilson a Liberal!
I gladly cast my vote for Pete Wilson for United States Senator when I lived in California and Pete Wilson is NO Liberal!

George Will....(George Will's trifecta of punitive aspirations)

George F. Will, the respected dean of Washington conservative columnists, has written a singularly dyspeptic column on the California recall election. He advises truly conservative Californians to "vote against the recall to protest its plebiscitary cynicism (and as a precaution find a conservative candidate from the list)."

I think I've narrowed it down: every Republican with the exception of Alan Keyes, is a RINO or a LIB.
You wait, before this recall election has ended, McClintock will say something to earn him their ire! Guaranteed!

pro-abortion = liberal
conservative = anyone anti-abortion ---
including PA Governor Casey, liberal democrat.
Eight years after the late Pennsylvania Gov. Robert P. Casey Sr., a loyal Democrat who opposed abortion, was denied a spot on the podium, anti-abortion Democrats say they are still struggling to be heard within a party where many leaders would prefer they just stay away or, at a minimum, stay quiet.
Just one example of how convoluted you are!

The late Governor Robert Casey favored the survival of Western Civilization (as opposed to Left Coast scintillating visionariness and other things fatal to unborn children). He was concededly a a liberal and one of the last survivors of a once great Democratic Party seized by leftists in 1972 under McGovern and other reds. Governor Casey was an actual devout Catholic. His and my Catholic Church, the largest in the country, was once known as the Democratic Party at prayer but nowadays that term describes certain mainline denominations as they embrace degeneracy.
If a Bob Casey slashed taxes deeply but favored abortion and homosexality, he would be a hero to pro-abort RINOs in love with all three of those positions. That is why they are RINOs along with a frequent distaste for guns and a love of "the arts" and other lifestyle abominations.
CINO/RINO Schwarzenkennedy, CINO/RINO Riordan and anti-Catholic Planned Barrenhood Wilson want the GOP to follow the path trod recently by the Demonrats against Western Civilization. I have been involved in tax revolts, founded and incorporated anti-tax groups in my previous state of residence, but in the last analysis, tax issues are largely only about money and that is a lot less important than the civilization and morality which motivated Bob Casey's exemplary public life.
Certainly there are other aspects to conservatiism and liberalism than those you mockingly mention but the ones you mention are the indispensable bedrock and starting point in these sorry times. Schwarzenkennedy the Silent (and understandably so) is no Republican much less is he a conservative. On October 7, Republicans will make him roadkill.

CINO, RINO, how about BOZO? You understand NOTHING about Kalifornia politics.
We Republicans in Kalifornia are a MINORITY, and I will be damned before I permit Cruz to win the governorship.
If Cruz's defeat means I vote for Schwarzenegger, so be it, but bear in mind that the election is still 55 days away. A LOT can happen during that time.
McClintock might get a vast infusion of money and Arnold might fall flat on his face, although I doubt that either will come to pass.
FYI --- Pete Wilson was a 2-term GOP governor and he's no RINO. One's abortion stand does NOT determine who's a RINO and who's not. It is Wilson's judiciary that permitted this recall election to go forward.
