Congress is set to impose new restrictions on the use of Special Operations Forces that for the first time will require a presidential order before deploying commandos in routine but hidden activities.

The restrictions are contained in the classified Senate report accompanying the current version of the intelligence authorization bill for fiscal 2004.

By the way if I get to mange I can let some other deserving person light the tar. How about a family member of someone who died in the operation?

Sounds good to me.

In California we might have to light him up on a light post and then move him to a California Oak Tree. California Oak Trees are a protected species.

I can't see burning a good oak tree. Just hang what remains on an Oak tree in his home town close to city hall.

Anybody who served on active duty when this clymer was in power was at potential danger due to his hatred of America. He still has people that he got into the military in the Pentagon and other places. They should be vetted and if guilty of crimes, they should receive the Harpseal treatment.

This would be very appropriate and would send a loud and clear signal to all who might put our military people in danger with their mouths and acts of treason. You posted:

I'd like to at least try the hanging in irons bit after harpseal was finished with him.

Oh do the hanging in irons first. However, that is really a more Birtish punishment than American. When I get done he will not be able to appreciate the hanging in irons.

The hanging in irons is mostly for the sake of passers-by. It's not so important if they're already dead, they stay up there for years until they are nothing but bones.

Sounds good the lighting of the tar immediate before they drop to have the noose tighten is to assure maximum appreciation of the eventby all. The hanging in irons is good for after the fact for the ecouragement of others. I think we have an op plan.

The Brits had a double way of doing this.

They often built an iron hanging tree from which several men could be hung.

Sometimes they built a special iron hanging and hung the hangees in iron as Harpseal has described. Then they would leave this hanging tree by a village or a bad area in London with the hanging around guests in irons.

Subject: Is it Levin?

Bill

Is it Carl Levin who put the requirement for a presidential finding for special ops in the appropriations bill?

This is a dangerous threat to the lives of our soldiers and citizenry--a very dangerous and irresponsible move.

The culprit to me is Stephen Cambone, the undersecretary of defense for intelligence. He somehow signaled the senators that it was ok to expand the covert action rules, although he is trying to deny it.

~~~
Having received this email from Bill Gertz implicating Stephen Cambone, I voicemailed and faxed Heather Wilson's legislative director. Congresswoman Wilson represents New Mexico's First Congressional District, is a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy.
I am advised by a professor emeritus of constitutional law at Brooklyn Law School that such a stipulation would represent unconstitutional infringement on the duties of the commander in chief by the legislative branch.
Thanks for the update. Seems the dems will attempt to skewer Bush with the power failure instead.
I can believe it was Cambone, they are even calling it the "Cambone agreement" or something like that, but his name is on it, and I think in the article Gertz said that something along the lines that this whole thing came up after the meeting with Cambone.
Thanks for checking with Gertz and posting it.
You are most likely right about the Congress' requirement infringing on the executive branch, but what's to stop Congress from requiring that THEY should approve it? Or in general throwing enough monkey wrenches in there to seriously obstruct the process.
It was Congress who put those requirents on the CIA that they can't work with any criminals and they need approvals at the highest levels for any exceptions, rules which basically emasculated the CIA.
Now they are trying to do the same with the Special Ops. They are this country's worst enemy.
Excellent, just excellent! He answered you!
My e-mail to him (mailed to the same address) was returned to me, which led me to think the address you posted was incorrect. Wonder what happened with my mail server?
At least you got the answer! Wow, wow, wow.
Please keep me informed. I'd like to learn a whole lot more about one, Stephan Cambone!
Wow, excellent information. Please keep us posted...would you suggest that we too fax/voicemail Heather's legislative director? Or would it be better to contact our own reps(I'm in PA)? Appreciate your advice...this is so important.
The Democraps (and the RINOs) never let little things like the law, the Constitution, or separation of powers, stand in their way!
Exactly what I said - the Senate is doing this to try and usurp the authority of the President.
The dems still believe Bush is not legitimate and they are trying everything they can to continue to steal it away from him - like they tried to steal the election.
This treachery needs to go public!! How about we all bombard Rush with the information and see if he will pick up on it.
