Besides, as someone pointed out earlier, Mother Nature seems to be taking care of the problem in her own, inexorable way.

My aren't we pompous and unconcerned since it is only gays that get exposed and transmit the disease?

If I had three children in college - I would be worried. Are they having sex with any person that was ever exposed sexually or through exposure to bodily fluids with an HIV+ person? If not, how do they know? Have their partners been tested? If not, they are taking a chance.

I am through with this discussion. I have tried to advise that our young people are in danger - gay or not. I have tried to advise that the desire to cast blame instead of finding solutions to protect all members of society is denying the danger of infection, and turning the problem into only a "gay" problem - all others are safe and should not be concerned.

The whole tone of this thread has been who causes it and if we can make them stop their activities there would be no problem. Ok, make them stop sexual activities. We'll give you - oh maybe two years to get it stopped before we worry about anyone we know coming into danger. Until then, don't bother teaching your young that they can get exposed to HIV through sex with their partner who just might be HIV+.

Now make all sexual activity stop between gays - we are waiting......waiting.....waiting... Now make all sexual activity stop among our young people - we are waiting....waiting....waiting.

Good, now all are safe. Go on with your lives.

I agree. Anyone who has promiscuous sex is endangering their life. So people should curtail their sex lives and wait for marriage.

The solution is very, very simple. See first comment.

turning the problem into only a "gay" problem - all others are safe and should not be concerned.

I am wondering why you keep denying - with all the links and information posted right on this very thread - that homosexual behavior is intrinsic to the spread of AIDS? Homosexual activists tried to tell us 15 years ago that soon "everyone" would have AIDS. But even today the majority of those catching AIDS are either homosexuals, IV drug users (who are often prostitutes), bisexuals, or women who have sex with some of the above. Be honest!

What's pompous about that attitude? Despite all the evidence indicating they live a high-risk situation, homosexuals continue to engage in their deviant behavior. What more do you want us to do? Buy them all chastity belts?

The reason you would be worried is because you would have taught your children that sexual promiscuity is a fact of life. You would have taught your children that homosexuality is acceptable. I raised mine better than that. I am not worried.

You are through with the discussion because you have no further salient arguing points. "Our" young people are not in danger. "Your" young people, who have been raised in a permissive and promiscuous environment are in danger. I can't tell you how sad that makes me, but I also seem to be unable to do anything about it since you and your fellow guardians of PC and diversity are disinclined to hear the truth.

You're missing the point. Most on this thread have no question as to the cause of the problem. It is only you and a few others who seem to be confused. What most on this thread decry is the inordinate amount of time and money being spent on dealing with a very small problem that does not affect the vast majority of the population who find homosexuality and IV drug use abnormal and unacceptable.

Now make all sexual activity stop between gays - we are waiting......waiting.....waiting... Now make all sexual activity stop among our young people - we are waiting....waiting....waiting.

No need. HIV will eventually achieve that result
