[history]
By midday Tuesday, the number of candidates who had been certified for the ballot had reached 115, with at least another 122 still having their paperwork checked.
That number is expected to grow as county registrars continue to forward candidate paperwork to the Secretary of State's office. State elections officials said by the close of Wednesday a finalized list of candidates would be available.

If you thought you had seen vote fraud in the past, you ain't seen nuttin yet:
1. Gray Davis just signed a bill allowing ILLEGAL ALIENS to get California State Driver's Licenses.
2. The ONLY identification you need to register to vote in California is a California State Driver's License.
3. No proof of citizenship is required to register to vote.
4. Poll workers are strictly prohibited from asking for identification when an individual comes to vote.
5. You supply the rest of the story.

He had threatened to sign the bill --- on which dark night behind closed doors did he sign it into law?
As for the "rest of the story" the final chapter is called "Motor-Voter."

Why in the world, then is Pete Wilson backing Arnold? Still trying to figure this out, Kelly. Honestly, I don't get it. I agree with you about McClintock, yet this election has to be won, period.

Well that seals Davis's fate. If they get their license by the election they will vote to recall...(but I don't expect that to happen)

Yes! I don't know what he's trying to prove by losing the governor's race twice within a 1-year period, but at least there'd be conservative unity if he were out of it.
I didn't think he'd have the chutzpah to run again so soon after he royally blew the last election, but it looks like Simon's ego is doing the talking now.

This race is between Cruz and Arnold. Any vote for McClintock or Simon is a vote for Cruz. Simple as that.

I fear the "morons" in California will follow in their own footsteps and elect Arnold. They're simple sheep and follow the simple information the media gives them. It's clear that the media has picked Arnold. Even the outlets that are "challenging" him refuse to seriously discuss any other candidates. It's a ploy.

"This race is between Cruz and Arnold. Any vote for McClintock or Simon is a vote for Cruz. Simple as that." Don't have time to educate you on CA politics but it is much more complicated than that. LOL

Give it some time for AHHHnold to drop out, after his numbers fall off. Conservatives will soon realize he's a liberal airhead, and switch to McClintock. Problem solved, McClintock becomes Governor!

Duh.
Except Wilson could work for/endorse McClintock. What's Wilson got to lose? I didn't care for Wilson in San Diego and less so when he was Governor, but he was much better in retrospect than what we have now. 20/20 hindsight and all that lot...
Wilson won an election. I believe he would endorse you if he thought you could win.
IMO, this isn't as much about the facts as about winning California and turning around the State, quickly, in the the most conservative way possible.
I wonder how many lurking DUfers are getting a kick out of all this. I'm on your side, Kelly, trust me.
We have to win, period.

Wilson would endorse a ham sandwich if the price was right.
I have never liked Wilson for many reasons and I'll leave it at that. And believe you me I wouldn't hire him to mow the lawn! Now back to the regularly scheduled programing...McClintock on FOX @ 1900PT. Only 57 days 'til we DUMP DAVIS! VOTE FOR MCCLINTOCK or pay the consequences!

Actually looking back Wilson is even worse
because we have Governor Davis because of
the great damage he did the party.

Unfortunately one has to live in California to understand that similarities between California political parties and "back East" political parties are often seen in name only.
Everything is a ploy and nothing is a ploy. Deal with it, or move to California and help.
