...At the news conference, a former PartyLite employee said she was called in to the company's human resources office in May and told her Social Security number did not match agency records. The 35-year-old machinist was fired, along with about 25 others, she said.

"I have been working with this [Social Security number] for PartyLite for more than seven years," said the Mexican immigrant, who asked to remain anonymous. "Why did they suddenly become interested in my records?"

I guess a machinist job is just another one of those jobs Americans don't want to perform. A company can not comply with the law now without being harassed by these illegal intruders.

I like your brand of sarcasm! The bleeding-heart socialist-loving PC freaks really over-use this term about jobs americans dont want, I mean, we mechanized prune-picking a long time ago. . .illegals are not wanted or needed!

There is some sweet irony at work here. If I read this correctly, and with a little between-the-lines work, it is easy to conclude that the fired workers were replaced with other illegals at a lower cost to the company.

In all seriousness, I am pleased everytime I read one of these articles in which the SS Admin. is bringing heat.

The illegals make it sound like they just fired them without notice. The people involved were given plenty of time to get their papers (SS numbers) in order and they did nothing.

"PartyLite Gifts, a candle manufacturer, and Suncast Corp., which makes outdoor storage and garden products, fired the illegal immigrants aliens, many of them longtime employees lawbreakers, for having Social Security numbers that did not match agency records were fraudulent."

None of the law-breaking border-crossing Latinos will be charged with any wrong doing nor will they be deported. The expected reparation settlement is currently being negotiated.

Of course they're given enough time to clear up any disrepancies. I'm finding this faintly amusing that they are boycotting companies for complying with the law. Look out for more of this; it's part of the Reconquista mentality.

Don't believe I've ever been employed at a place that DIDN'T check my records ... most required my fingerprints as well.

So now we have folks with bogus IDs complaining that day laborers from who-knows-where are taking "their" jobs? That's a hoot!

Also, our Latino Mexican National "guests" are given in-state tuition to work toward degrees to do jobs that "Americans won't do."

On the contrary, the local DA is working up an endictment against the employer for profiling.

The Mexican illegals need to marry Puerto Ricans and become US citizens; since most Chicago Latinos are Puerto Ricans, the Mexicans have plenty of opportunities.

Then we will go back to watching Oprah at our local scheduled times and buy all the party candles we want.

Oh, the humanity! Will this blatant racism never end?

Oh, and as always, I am also deeply troubled by this heinous injustice.

Latino community leaders launched a product boycott Monday against two Batavia factories that they accuse of unfairly firing more than 125 immigrant workers.

How can this be? 125 illegals working at just one company in Illinois?

Mexinois ?

My next door neighbor is a machinist, has two new cars, a hot rod, built in pool and a nice house in relativly expensive neighborhood. Machinists, at least union, get paid very well.
