Newspaper survey says crowd count high at SF peace rally (i.e., they lied)

San Francisco (AP) - A newspaper survey of aerial photography says there were far fewer people than first reported at a peace rally Sunday in San Francisco. Police and event organizers estimated the crowd at 200,000.

But the San Francisco Chronicle's review of photos of the rally taken from the air indicates that only about 65,000 people were on hand to protest at the rally's peak.

Wow, it worked again.

Many moons ago, I was given a rule of thumb that has proven
itself over and over. When someone is giving you 'favorable' numbers, divide by three. When the numbers are 'unfavorable,' divide by two.
