Bill OReilly picked the wrong person to be a human punching bag when he invited Ann Coulter on his show. His purpose was to position himself as an independent and Coulter as a "right-wing pundit." But Coulter tried getting into the substance of her book, Treason, and OReilly was exposed as a know-nothing on the subject of Joe McCarthy.
Rebutting phony charges that she is "mean," Coulter said, "Im responding to 50 years of the liberal creation of a mythturning an honorable American, a great American patriot, Joe McCarthy, into a virtual Nazi." OReilly responded, "Im not going with that. Im not going with that. A guy who used his power to do some good but a lot of bad too." Then the following exchange occurred:

I missed this Coulter slugfest, but she demolished Larry King the other night in almost exactly the same way. King could do nothing but accuse McCarthy of vague generalities, and Ann called him on each one. With King, you could tell he was spouting old leftist spin he was emotionally wedded to, he couldn't argue with a single point she made.

Ann's book just is not my style.
But the attacks on her over her book have been... strange. Almost all of them are based on perceptions that are not supported by facts. I have seen many emotional responses to her, but few that were factually sound.

The page the article on is almost strictly text, so it shouldn't take long to download.

Coulter was on his show a month ago.
Is this guy just now catching up on his back-logged TIVO or something?

I saw that show, The troll O'Reilley sat their and acted like he had the upper hand but Ann was bopping him over the head with the facts which he continued to deny anyways. It came off like a stalemate but Ann whooped him real good.

It's good the media asks the hard questions about Coulter's books and it stands up to scrutiny. It's good for conservatism, which I like to see, so let them fire away. Ann can take it.
"McCarthyism" is overblown by the historians and the press. I'm glad Coulter wrote this book.

"O'Reilly made a silly mistake. He knows better; he didn't think about the question. "b.s. o'r*** is a gasbag. he didn't do his homework.
he didn't read the book; n as usual, he was talkin' out of his a**...

Sick'em Ann! You are the best. A female Michael Savage as full of as much rage as the original. Lots of Californians are becoming as full of the same rage!

This book is driving the lefties nuts because it is full of facts back up with truth.
Ann has found a nitch here that nobody, but nobody has thought about.
I saw a seg of Book Notes with her on it. Jees, she was loaded for shooting bear and she did.
Met her at the March for Justice when everyone was leaving. We had a conversation accross the mall to our cars. She scared the hell out of me with her knowledge. Now, I am seeing it on a national basis and she is still just as good.
Great Lady. My Hero.
Grrrrrr, If I were only a little bit younger. But please don't say Yes to me now Ann. What would I do? LOL.

Thanks for the post, but I haven't taken O'Riley seriously for quite some time. He is nothing but an overbearing empty suit.
Way to fire Ms Coulter!

O'Reilly may be a gasbag, but he really didn't think about the flawed question when he asked it. O'Reilly should have clued himself by just saying the question itself:
"Sure he [Senator McCarthy] did. It was the House of Unamerican Activities Committee. And who was overseeing that?"
Like I said, he didn't think or his staffer didn't think.

O'Reilly is a fool
She is a tiger, I wish she would go after the educational system, the socialist grooming and indoctrination of our youth is the most insidious thing going.

Ah. Coulter is more intelligent than any of them. She knows to deal in specifics, not vague generalities.
To: Paul Atreides
What happened? I don't watch The Gecko. It was great. King tried to corner her with those tired out liberal shiboltihs about McCarthy and Ann just kept coming back at him with the historical facts. Larry the Lizard kept rolling his eyes, swallowing hard, and gulping air just like he was a titmouse trying work a canon ball thru his anal canal. It was great theater.

I saw the end of a biography of him on A&E in which he stated that the right gets their point across by bullying people. All I could think was "yeah, he considers facts to be bullying."
