Why on earth would you DISDAIN single parents? Some people end up with that role rather they like it or not (I did) and it is not easy to be a single parent. I am having a real problem with you using the word DISDAIN to describe your feelings about people like me. I raised a wonderful daughter by myself. She is now grown, she is very successful and she is the parent of the love of my life (my granddaughter). I DISDAIN MORE people who stay together "for the sake of the children" and harm them emotionally by doing so.

I am sorry that I offend you. I was refering to people who choose to have children on their own (should have made that more clear). That being said however, I truly believe in my heart of hearts that children do best with a mother and a father and I DISDAIN that we live in a society where men and women are so full of vanity and self interest that they cannot find a way to learn to love their spouse through thick and thin. This is a me oriented society and it has had a terrible effect on our children. I am sure that you did the best you could and I'm sure your daughter is a wonderful person however, for more people than not their families end up emotionally wrecked and I think it's very sad. God forbid my husband should ever leave me (I'm not blind to the realization that marriages do break up) however, I will do all in my power to love and nurture our relationship forever. I am one who really believes in Until Death do us part.
