I am glad to hear that it is going well...

I posted a picture of our darling granddaughter shortly after her birth.
Her name is Emily and she weighed 2lb.9oz...she was 8-1/2 weeks early.
She left the hospital at 4lb.7oz. and is now almost 7 pounds!
She's doing great, feeding well, sleeping well.
Here's my big question.
All you moms who had preemies.....did your doctor/pediatrician allow you to defer immunizations for your precious child?
Did they take in account the immature system and not load it down with immunizations too soon?
That is my question.
While I'm not against DPT, MMR, etc. and Emily is getting a monthly shot to protect her from colds and viruses...
...they now want to also give her a Hep.B shot.
Why is a baby getting a Hepatitus B shot?
My understanding is Hep B is transmitted by blood, sex, perhaps transfusions...(neither which Emily has had)...
Emily is healthy.....she's at home, not in daycare....and her parents are very careful with handwashing, etc.
Her pediatrician said his insurance company considers it a liability if they don't sign off on this....
...that even if my daugther and her husband wanted to defer or not do this, they would have to find another doctor.
I don't understand this.
WOuld someone please explain why a tiny baby needs a Hep.B shot??????
I think this is just what I needed to hear.
God bless you.
Grammie, I came over Here to see some Recent Pics of Logan, and I can't Believe how Fast he is Growing! And he is Adorable, too! Thank You, O Lord, for All You have Done in the Life of this dear child!
I imagine there's a bunch of little girls, maybe some not yet even born, who might have issues with that statement. Maybe even my granddaughter, Victoria, who should be born sometime around the first of may. It's not that far from Houston to Austin after all. :)
WHAT?
You want Victoria and Logan to DATE? Hmmmmmmm.......
Logan has 29 years left. Is Victoria willing to wait?
AND! CONGRATULATIONS on your almost-here-Victoria!
I LOVE that name! (not that it matters if I like the name or nuthin'.....)
:)
Logan is ALMOST 20 pounds! We'll have another milestone in a week or so! AND it's been reported that Logan is a walkin' , talkin' machine!! He's learning to eat "people food" as opposed to baby food.
DOWN WITH BABY FOOD!!!! He's finally off of formula......! Onward and upward to bigger things in Logan's life!
And now, without further ado, I bring you The Star of the Show... Logan!
It just keeps getting better and better! He's my pick for the all around BEST catagory too!
You go Logan!
Wow! He's walking!
That is wonderful!
What a beautiful little boy!
