There will be no credit, but Bush has done more for African than the so-called first black president Bill Clinton.

Agreed.

The lucky 7 will not be recalled until ABCNNBCBS, the NY Slimes, La Slimes, Washington Compost, Newsweak and Slime cry and moan about our new Liberian quagmire.

I am not big on marketing gurus.

But the LURD definitely needs one. Wonder who thought up that acronym?

Granted, the marketing gurus for Liberians United for Reconciliation and Democracy are somewhat less formally trained than those found serving many American corporations. However, LURDs marketing consultants and field representatives carry Kalishnikovs and RPGS. That seems to balance things out, at least among those of their own culture.

And too, their development strategy and focus group meetings seem to be a bit more intense, as well. They do know what their consumer market wants, and they're well-sourced to let them have it.

I bet those Marines floating offshore, sharpening their K-Bars and loading up their magazines had a lot to do with Taylor finally getting out of dodge.

I bet they won't be the ones to get the credit for it.

I was almost expecting one of those links to show the militants dressed in drag again.

That is one screwed up place.

Oh, its not over yet. Bush said no peacekeepers until Charles Taylor left didn't he? So Taylor is gone and where are the Marines??

How many Nigerian soldiers are in Liberia? Thats not enough to guard Monrovia let alone the country. So again where are the Marines!!??

If there is any violence in Liberia (and there will be we all know that) Bush will be blamed for it. Where are the Marines Bush?

Bush appears to have handled this one superbly.

I second that! Things could still get touchy, but this so far has been done very nicely indeed. Very impressive.
