Got any explanations or solutions, or do you just have criticism?

I blame parents for this. They knowingly let this nonsense go on (and hope that their kids won't be affected) and because they're paying through the nose for these public schools through their property taxes, they feel obligated to send their kids to them.
Pull your kids out and start your own schools, for example:

I think that when it comes to the cause of academia's left wingedness, every reason mentioned here has some validity. There is no one single "lightning bolt" reason that it happened, but a combination of lots of reasons. Yet you appear to be trying to belittle any factor that you don't think is the one true reason, when there is no one true reason.

That makes sense. I didn't get specific, in part, for that reason. I said, in effect, that we dropped the ball and ceded our schools to the Left and I still believe that.

Here's a story about a school district in Michigan which is going to charge every student a $35 fee whether they participate in extracurricular activities or not. I guess parents might want to see how that $35 fee is being spent, but their opinions probably won't matter at all. Will it go towards homosexual indoctrination programs or Planned Parenthood programs? One school administrator said the fee will benefit all students (such as SADD programs). Yeah, right. A new day is dawning, where parents actually have to pay a fee to have their kids indoctrinated by the public schools for programs that parents might not want.

Somehow you have survived, but it's not uncommon for somebody taking seemingly liberal potshots to be removed from this site. "Troll" is somebody who takes potshots with the apparent aim of just stirring it up. FR is a _conservative_ site and there is no right to espouse a liberal point of view here.
