I don't doubt that that reflects the attitude of many of the Dem activists. But there are many dupes in the muddy middle, for whom this incident could be a lifting of the veil, a turning point somewhat like, as someone here said, the Wellstone memorial. I hope a thoughtful editorial letter campaign springs up in CA. Mulholland should not get away with this outrage.

Mulholand appeared on today's Hannity radio show. He would not go so far as to apologize for the comment, but he did say that he should have said "real political bullets" instead of what he did say. It was as contrite as I've ever heard him get because they never apologize for anything, especially for the Democrats chief underground mudslinger.
