Today my family suffered through a justification (long-winded and weak) as to why our bishop voted for the gay-bishop. Everything Buchanan wrote is true--the "bishop" is more a study in spinelessness than bravery. I felt like reminding the minister today that Jesus gave his approval to marriage by attending a wedding at Cana and turning water into wine. Note that the miracle was NOT that he turned the bride into a man! And the usual excuse for condoning others ("caste not the first stone unless you are without sin") is a good way to end up letting anything go and keeping oneself from striving to improve in one's own life.

As usual, the people who are asked for "unity" and "tolerance" are the people who would have to sacrifice their core beliefs to first "tolerate", the "accept", then "celebrate the diverisity" of not only those who do things which are considered deviant, but the very defiant acts themselves. I don't think I've ever heard gays asked to contain their in-your-face behavior for the sake of "unity" or "tolerance" of those who find their behavior abhorrent.

The Episcopalians have begun their slide down the slippery slope and this is the end of the church which has been the historical backbone of the United States. The public acceptance of homosexuality is the line in the sand in the war between right and wrong in this country. This is more than just about "culture". This is about absolutes. It seems now that almost every divisive problem facing this country has a homosexual angle to it (Boy Scouts, education, church conflict, gays in the military, vulgarity in media, affirmative action, etc.) It's time we take back our schools, our churches, our courts, and our country. A quick watching of "Caligula" is a reminder of what happens to a people when the other side wins.

"Fifteen years ago, Robinson dissolved his marriage, dumped his wife, abandoned his two little girls and went off to shack up...

...because God revealed the Holy mission to have anal sex and further the Gay agenda. Sacrificing his traditional family was a sign of his faith and commitment.

Where is your church? I'm curious about what Sunday was like at Episcopal churches around the country.

(Sorry for your pain. I'm a Roman Catholic Anglophile who sypmathizes with my Episcopalians.)

Yes, it's about truth. And we know who that is.
