Update info: There were two houses on the compound and two sheds; One house was occupied by the "friendlies", a hispanic family. The other house was rented by the informant. The informant's house, car and sheds burned down.
Not only did the informant not get the reward money, he was arrested and put in jail. I assume it is somewhat difficult to file a claim for property loss against the county while you are in jail. The SD never did release the informant'a name....it was Ron, don't know the last name.

As far as the fire goes if you shoot a cop 14 times and drag his body behind your car for a few miles you are jacked.

It is remarkable how unusually flammable the houses of those accused of killing police officers seem to be!

It seems standard that, when the cops want to burn down a house with everyone in it, they use tear gas to do the job. Tear gas (Chlorobenzylidene malononitrile, or CS ) is highly flammible, and the common pyrotechnic grenade form is not supposed to be used against wood-framed buildings. The Branch Davidians' building also burst into flames shortly after CS was pumped into it.

Wrong again. Mumia was convicted in a Court of Law, in a trial by jury. He should have been hung in public a long time ago.

And the police learned from that. If you kill a cop, these days, the probability of you being taken alive is low. The cops don't like the idea of the possibility of a cop-killer being freed by an OJ-style jury

Nobody has a problem with it when the person killed is fairly obviously a cop killer (although why police have special status in summarily executing killers of their fellows is another story)

The problem will arise when the cops torch somebody in his house and he turns out to be the wrong guy. Their record on getting the right address on drug raids, has not been stellar
