If he says he is going to do those things, then I'll vote for him. Hell, if he ends up actually cutting our budget, I'll support amending our Constitution so that he can run for President and cut the federal budget too. But if he intends to cut spending and cut taxes, you must admit it ain't a good sign bringing Riordan on board.
This is a consiliatory move because Arnold and Riordan were playing political chess and Arnold pulled a brilliant move, shutting Riordan out of the race. Arnold had to toss Riordan a bone, after humiliating the old war horse, beating him at his own game. Arnold has really displayed an impressive amount of political savvy in the past few months. This is an extremely shrewd operator.
Sure, why would one want to bring on board a Republican that can actually win in LA and bring in Democrat votes? Alienating voters is a much smarter strategy.
