Last year Arnold helped a major of expansion of goverment.

So did George Bush but I bet you will vote for him again in 2004. I will too, because despite Republicans willingness to expand government programs, they still treat businesses better than do Democrats, and they both give lip service to being against redistribution of wealth. It is the lesser of two evils argument.

Reagan was not a huge star that everyone knew when he first ran.

How old are you? I was there, and yes, he was a huge star. I have pictures of me with James Drury, James Franciscos, and Chuck Conners, taken at a 1966 Reagan for Governor ralley in Bakersfield. The energy was electrifying. Reagan had tons of star power and charism, and lots of Hollywood Stars out stumping for him.

Sure, why would one want to bring on board a Republican that can actually win in LA and bring in Democrat votes? Alienating voters is a much smarter strategy.

What do you mean?
You think it is a good idea for Schwarzenegger to bring a liberal Democrat like Riordan on board so he can alienate Republican voters? If that is the strategy you endorse, I think it's crazy. That's my opinion.

Have you followed Riordan's career? I've lived in L.A all of my life and I actually voted for Riordan when he ran against the neo-trotskyite, Mike Woo. So when it makes sense, I am willing to hold my nose and vote for someone I disagree with. But to say that Riordan is a successful vote getter because he won against Mike Woo is fairly ridiculous. Anyone who wasn't to the left of Nikita Kruschev could have run against Mike Woo and won.

Simply put, Riordan is a disaster. Less than 2 years ago, he did the impossible and blew a 40 point lead against Bill Simon. In the election that followed, Bill Simon then proved himself to be fairly tone-deaf as a campaigner, which should officially make Riordan the Helen Keller of Republican politics.

Where will Arnold be on Prop 54?

What do you expect from McClintock?

Cheers,

Richard F.

I voted for Simon over Riordan but in CA it pays to get anyone on board who has a following. Riordan was a Davis supporter so I don't trust him but obviously some people do and the media seems to give him credibility. He's a guy who the media will report who he supports and this is a media state. It's been said that Californians decide their choice sitting on the couch.

Arnold does have name recognition and charisma. I know he is not as conservative as Reagan, but give him some credit.

Are we going to go from a campaign of Lies and Deceit (Davis) to Smoke and Mirrors (Arnold) ?

Hold the phone! What in the heck are you talking about? I give Arnold all sorts of credit. You must be confusing me with Eternal Scrooge. I am excited about Arnold running.

Since Arnold isn't running for anything in your state, Connecticut, you need not be troubled over the situation.

Thanks for your concern for my well being.

Well, speak of the devil. Add in Gerry Parsky and Brooks Firestone, and you have the complete CA RINO "Axis of Evil."
