Arnold is a gift to America.

He is an inspiration, fiscally sharp (Masters in Economics), and larger than life.

His impact on the Republican movement in California will be enormous.

Rush and Morris are dead wrong.

Schwarzenegger is the classic immigrant who made it big.

The American Dream come true. Arnold laments its passage in California, because it was the stuff of legends.

A return to this nostalgic past is as conservative as one gets, and I will support him wholeheartedly.

I suggest all Freepers do as well - IF YOU WANT TO LIVE.

Arnold of Governor, Chuck Norris for Lt. Governor. Stallone can be the state controller--and Huffington can be dog catcher.

You apparently have not been keeping up with Tom McClintocks political agenda, for his agenda is much more conservative than Arnolds is without room for despute!

And if we want *INNOCENT BABIES* to live, we should vote for *TOM McCLINTOCK* or *BILL SIMON*, not an *UNREPENTANT BABY KILLING RINO* like *SCHWARZENEGGER*!!!!!

Arnold is a gift to America.

I think you have that backward.

His impact on the Republican movement in California will be enormous.

That much is true. It will cement the California Republican party as being the most Left-of-Center wing of the entire party by supporting a pro-gay, pro-gun control, pro-abortion, pro-social spending, and pro-illegal immigrant candidate.

A return to this nostalgic past is as conservative as one gets, and I will support him wholeheartedly.

I think you're seeing the idealized Schwarzenegger. The reason I say this is that his previous statements regarding the aforementioned issues is not that of a conservative by any stretch of the imagination. To make matters worse, Schwarzenegger has not declared a plan or platform; only platitudes.

I suggest all Freepers do as well - IF YOU WANT TO LIVE.

Living under a RINO isn't living in my book. Voting for a left-of-center candidate with an (R) by his name isn't my idea of victory.

It's more like suicide.

I always listen to what Rush has to say but on this one I think he is wrong. (Morris? he's wrong a lot but he's humorous)

If I lived in California and could vote for Arnold S. I would. I am behind him 100%. If I am wrong so be it but if I'm not.... Look out! He's gonna kick some you know what!

I am unaware of Arnold having a master's degree, though I understand he does have an undergrad degree in business. Can we get this cleared up once and for all, because I keep seeing this stated as fact?

Actually... no.

He has a bachelor's degree in international marketing and business administration, which he earned by correspondence from University of Wisconsin, graduating 1979.

I've heard it said that he subsequently earned a masters degree in business administration (Howard University?) but I haven't been able to confirm this.

In addition, he's been awarded several honorary degrees from universities in recognition of his public service and charitable activities.

These would all be laudable things, but I have found no evidence that he's ever obtained even an undergrad degree in economics, much less a graduate degree.

"He is an inspiration, fiscally sharp (Masters in Economics), and larger than life."

Schwarzenegger's own backgrounder on himself at his "Arnold4Gov" website, only mentions his BA in business from U of Wisconsin.

There is no mention of a masters degree, not in economics, business or anything else.

Maybe he's just modest. Ya think?

Good for Arnold, he's managed to knock Kobe off the screen for a few.
But I still have a haunting mental image of a Celebrity Death Match with clay caricatures portraying Arnold, Gary Coleman, Larry Flynt, Arianna Huffington and that porn star engaging in one hell of a free-for-all.

Rush and Morris are right...Arnold is a RHINO....His wife (Kennedy that she is) said today that Arnold would represent the DEMOCRATS of the state.....that is EXACTLY what California does NOT need.

I heard him mention Milton Friedman - a very good choice of economists.
