I don't believe a word of it. Rewrite it with the baby died at the hands of the parents and to cover it up they held the dog's mouth on the baby to provide marks and then I'll be a believer.

Yep. Sounds like white trash to me.

the baby's parents left the infant alone briefly while they stepped outside to smoke cigarettes.

I'd wager the dog didn't have damn thing to do with it.

I am no fan of pit bulls--quite the contrary-- but I think you're right. Every dog attack I've ever heard of, besides simple "nips"--the dog grabs what it is biting and SHAKES resulting in tissue tearing and bleeding. Pit bulls have jaws designed to do that--they lock the jaws and shake their prey till it dies. That doesn't leave a newborn-size baby just limp and blue. I also don't really picture a dog knocking over one of these baby swings unless it was just pelting through the house, being chased maybe, and then it wouldn't be paying attention to the baby. I think you are right that the parents killed the baby and set it up to blame the dog, and it worked...or will it? Autopsy probably hasn't been done yet.

Again, I don't like pit bulls, and I am afraid of my neighbors' pits, but the picture you bring up of the parents making their innocent dog bite their dead baby bothers me a LOT. Yet it seems to make more sense than the dog knocking the baby's swing over to get to the baby, then just leaving a few bite marks without mauling.

Anyone wanna bet we hear about this case again after the autopsy? Arrests?

Mom "and her BOYFRIEND" always raises red flags to me. They didn't care enough about this nameless baby to get married.

I HATE the tone of this article, though. The baby's death is almost incidental--the writer is trying so hard to convince us what a wonderful dog and what wonderful parents these were, while glossing over this Singer-style abortion.

God, what a sad situation either way. For the baby and only 2 weeks old....brand new angel wings. :(
