1% of my paycheck out here in Calif., goes to the teacher's Union.
Half of that money is used for "political" purposes.
Is it any wonder that the dems push for more & more taxes?
A "cut" of any tax INcrease goes DIRECTLY into the Democrat coffers.
And who pays for it? Taxpayers -- many of whom are AGAINST public-sectore Unions (would prefer privatization of the services, instead!), or are AGAINST the politics they support.
The whole system is criminal & immoral. It is anti-freedom, and equals fiscal slavery for the benefit of Union thugs & Dems at the expense of Repub taxpayers/voters.
How we reached a point of such leniency with Union economic thuggery I'll never know. The Beck Act & other legislation seems to have had no teeth in constraining union's economic coercion. If anything, Unions have become MORE coercive, not more voluntary, in their ec. power over the years.
People who offer kind words about Unions and say "as long as they're voluntary there is no problem with them" - don't understand the fiscal coercion involved -- and the direct benefit to the Dem party of large public-sector unions. These institutions are NOT voluntary or defined by smiley-faces of charity and good feelings; they are explicitly coercive - both to taxpayers & to their membership w.r.t. their annual Dues.
I HAVE to pay my union dues, or else I DON'T WORK -- even though I believe 'collective' bargaining is immoral & for communists.
Sure I'm a teacher, but I'm not "Labor" -- I consider myself a small businesswoman, and... entrepreneur.
We need to get rid of U.S. Unions - maybe send them all to Cuba.
