RECALL SUPPORTERS ATTACKED IN SACRAMENTO
PROTEST AT TAXPAYER-FUNDED ANTI-RECALL WORKSHOP TURNS VIOLENT - DAVIS THUGS ATTACK RECALL SUPPORTERS
ATTACK CAUGHT BY FOX NEWS CHANNEL CREW
Charges To Be Filed as Recall Supporters Rushed to Emergency Room
(SACRAMENTO) Recall Gray Davis supporters were violently attacked a little more than one hour ago by Gray Davis supporters. Those who were assaulted have been taken to a local hospital emergency room in Sacramento.
A protest was underway against taxpayer-funded Workers Against the Recall workshops that were being led by a coalition of labor union organizations including the publicly-funded University of California Institute for Labor and Employment (UC ILE). The UC ILE received $4,000,000 of taxpayers money in the budget signed by Governor Davis one week ago (Saturday).
Protestors were across the street from the event marching peacefully when Davis supporters rushed across J Street in Downtown Sacramento and began beating recall supporters. Davis thugs also attempted to steal and destroy YES on RECALL signs from recall supporters.
Gray Davis anti-recall campaign continues to stoop to new levels. The use of taxpayer money to fight the peoples recall campaign is revolting. The use of violence and physical attacks against recall supporters is disgusting and reprehensible. We call on Governor Davis to save any last shred of decency he has and condemn the use of violence against innocent citizens, declared Recall Gray Davis spokesman, Joe Wierzbicki who was present at the protest.

No, I saw it several times, and it began with some union thugs crossing the street to offer aid to their fellow union thugs who were already there.

"Look For. . The Union Label," on the outside of a thug's sleeve that is. This incident is disgraceful, and Simon or Arnold or someone should immediately go to the people attacked, take them from the hospital, go right back to holding their signs, and join them there.

In post 81 you can read "Painters and Allied Trades, Political (action?) Committee." And in the middle of the shirt is either DC 16 or OC 16. Buncha thugs.

Tiannamen Square it wasn't but Davis still has 59 days.
I said two months ago they would start this kind of cr&p.

Freeper Comwatch came after the bouts of violence. I know he was there and commented on another thread about hearing the police discuss it AFTER the fact.
There were 4 waves of attack. I believe what Fox News aired was the 1st wave. During the attack I was 20 feet down the sidewalk with another pro-recall person giving a live interview to KFBK News Talk 1530 AM - Sacramento #1 radio station.
We were supposed to be discussing the taxpayer funding of the anti-recall effort (which is what we were upset with and why we were out protesting).
During this interview the shouting Gray Davis thugs began to rush over. What you see on the footage thus far aired by Fox News Channel is one of the waves of people coming across the street. At this point our people have dispersed and you see one portion of our group under assault.

Thanks for blowup of picture, perhaps the guy has his hand up because people are spitting. In this day and age, get spit on, I'd go to the ER too!

Thank you!

Charges have been filed. There are right now three complaintants. There are four others who were beaten or punched. They have to decide if they want to press charges. Realize, this is a bunch of volunteers and a handful of staffers who came out to a political protest. They didn't know they would get attacked and some of them are distraught. One kid watched both his mom and dad get beat.
To: D. Miles
Especially when you get spit on by DemocRATS/union thugs. They're more likely than others to be...well...you know.

I have a question: why would this "workshop" be taxpayer funded?Because in the minds of some people, taxpayer funded means it's free! Since these "free-minded" people vote, well these kind of workshops are considered to be an important part of our public infra-structure, and to a liberal-minded politician it is something that would be impossible to pass up for it would help generate a bigger government cash flow hence, more power to the politicians.
Do I sound Cynical? If so, that's because I am!

I hope this story gets carried widely. The voters need to know what forced unionism results in.

I'm sure hoping no FReepers were hurt in this melee.
Union thugs! Remember Philadelphia, where the union boss pointed out a FReeper to be attacked?
Did those bums ever go to jail?
