I think the recall will never happen; the demo-crats will not allow it. Davis will be allowed to "test" the wind, however when it is apparent he will NOT prevail, he ultimately will be told to "fall on his sword" and Bustamante will take his place when Davis resigns.

It doesn't matter if Davis resigns. The recall election will happen no matter what. That is how the law is written.

You obviously don't know California law. If Davis resigns, the recall election goes ahead anyway. Bustamante will be acting Gov ONLY until the election is held, then whoever wins the election becomes Gov.

Recall is on even if Davis resigns. Once the recall is certified, it's on.
