Interesting, but my bias is for football dads, not soccer moms.

Arnold pushed more big government last year,
he is a fiscal conservative like Wilson,
tax and spend more while calling yourself
a fiscal conservative.

And Wilson is the one who destoryed
the Republican in California.
If Arnold gets he will end up bringing
down more Republican congressmen to defeat
as he expands government.

Quite interesting analysis that goes along with something I've been preaching for a while here, that the hard core of TRUE conservatives that post here, who really want to carve and starve the federal nanny state and get government our of our lives ... I include myself in that group, BTW ... are a minority in the American electorate. That there are a lot of folks out there similar to the imaginary person described here who may very well vote Republican more often than not, while also believing pretty much what this imaginary person believes, which is certainly not TRUE conservatism by FR standards.

So what's the answer? The present party system invites compromise including compromise of principles, because there are not enough TRUE conservatives or far leftists to elect someone on their own. Personally, I've always advocated a realignment of the parties along strictly philosophical lines, so that when you cast a vote, there's no doubt as to what the person you're voting for stands for, but would that work presidentially with the Electoral College?

They can stop this "pragmatic libertarian" BS right now. I lean a little small l libertarian myself and this guy is not a libertarian.

The man doesn't think Calif. has strict enough gun laws, that should be a dead giveaway he's no libertarian. He seems like a "progressive compassionate conservative" to me.

He was pregnant and had Danny DeVito's baby in "Junior"
Non the less his politics are a lot like the typical "Soccer Mom"
Pro Abortion
Anti Gun (anti self defense for peons..but not for himself or his family of course)
Pro Taxes
Pro Social Programs
Pro Immigration
Wants to lure business back to CA so he can tax them for social programs
Daycare for everyone
Promises not just good jobs but "Great" jobs for "everyone" (while open to more immigration)
At least we finally have a "Progressive" Republican running..
GW says Ahnode will make a great Gov...
Ahnode may also be able to deliver CAs electoral votes to the Repubs (so who cares what his politics are)

Democrats should be scared of Arnold.

As should Republicans. Arnold's mushy stances on many issues makes it uncertain on what issues he is gonna champion. He could get a hair up his butt and advance gay marriage or ask for more gun control. I don't mind Arnold being mushy on some of the social issues that I have strong opinions on, as long as he doesn't act on them. But I see Arnold as too much of a wild card who may do some dumb things that are counter to the core values of most Republicans.

Schwarzenegger is about equal to Joe Lieberman or Arlen Specter. That's the better analogy.

Let's see:

1. Pro-death.
2. Self Proclaimed Environmentalist.
3. Viewed those who impeached Klinton with contempt.
4. Thinks the answer to Californias problems are more "programs".
5. Supports gay rights.
6. Has the intelligence of a damn cabbage.

Yeah Ahhnold is just what California needs. That is if you're like me and hope it - along with all of it's liberals from both parties - falls into the Pacific where it belongs.

I live as far from California as possible (except for Maine, which is 13 miles away).

I don't know anything about the personalities (except, of course, The Governator).

But, for the sake of God, can't you California Republicans PICK ONE GUY AND SUPPORT HIM?

Wonder if Arnold's twin brother could win the Lt. Governorship?
