Who would that be Bob? The guy who said you can't sell the "I SOLD MY SOUL TO HILLARY" gag in 3 seconds, but it works all the time on passing motorists?

I've said several times I think the devil gag is ok, I have even suggested it to people. I have also said that I think it is somewhat vague. Just because people can read your sign in 3 seconds deosn't mean it makes a connection with them. It doesn't reference any of Hillary's own scandals that may ring a bell with people, nor tie her to the general corruption of the Clinton administration.

Our goal at any Hillary FReep should be to reinforce a negative about her in swing voters minds. We want them to think "Oh yes, I remember her taking the White House silverware" or "I almost forgot about all those questionable pardons".

The devil connection has about as much effect as having a sign that says "Hillary is a witch". It will connect with hard core conservatives, but their vote is probably already in the bag. Middle of the road voters would just as likely reject it as some kind of a personal attack by Clinton haters or the VRWC, and may have the opposite effect of setting her up as a victim.

None of my comments have been offered as an attack on anyone. They are simply suggestions or positive criticism to help people get the most out of their signs and message they are projecting at their rallies.

I think signs that reference Bill's foibles may be great against Bill, but I'm not sure what effect they would have in targeting Hillary's credibility. The fact is a lot of women emphathized with Hillary...many have had a "cad" in their own lives and felt sorry for her and the public humiliation she had to suck up. Reminding them that Hillary was portrayed as a victim in that episode may backfire.

I would also suggest not using any references to the "VRWC". The general public thought she was a little paranoid over that, no sense suggesting flesh and blood members are actually out there. It's better if Hillary is the only one mentioning that phrase, it makes her look kooky.

One question you and the other FReepers committing their time and money to this event need to ask is what is your goal? If the goal is to put questions about her in the minds of swing voters who may be voting on her presidency one day, then attack her credibility be reminding them of her own scandals and idiocy. If the goal is to get in Hillary's face or make her "uncomfortable, than by all means throw Bill at her.

Keep in mind that the second option, while personally satisfying, might not have any long term political or strategic vale.
