"Who is he to decide what is right for civilization?" Mould asks. "Who is he to tell the world how we should perceive two people wanting equal protection under the already existing system?" Um, he would be the man elected President. The man who heads the Executive Branch of our constitutional form of government. It is his job to speak out on policy decisions. If the Congress is to pass a law, the President signs it or vetos it.
The issue is a desperate cry from a miniscule group of self-absorbed people. How does "same sex union" help America? Is there anything about a "same sex union" that cannot be handled with other contracts the couple could get a lawyer to draw up (regarding the division of property after the marriage disolves)?
Is it about recognition of the "marriage"? Recognized by whom? Employer? Many already give same sex couple who live together "spouse" benefits. Church? Neighbors? Taxman? Adoption agencies?

Oh, on behalf of civilization, the question should be asked,
"What if everyone was gay?"
The world's civilizations would all end in one generation.
Must be a good thing.

Conservatives aren't allowed to have opinions. Hollywood has established that.

Exactly,
Husker Du was never in the mainstream at all ever. I will grant them a shot of their poster in Clays room inthe Movie "Less Than Zero".........

...two people wanting equal protection under the already existing system?" Because, as someone else wiser than I pointed out already, "Marriage is not for the protection of those being married".

I've never heard of anyone mentioned in the article/screed, except President Bush.

When God announces Appendia A to the Bible, then I'nn consider Mr Mould's opinion as being valid. Until then, marriage is, and must remain valid only when between a NATURAL BORN man and a natural born woman...

Man, it's hard to read crap like this. Husker Du is probably my all-time favorite band. This is why I stopped reading anything about the musicians I like, most of them are completely f'ed up people.

"
If you take the religious argument out of the picture, you eliminate a lot of rhetoric that the right base their arguments on."So, if God arises and does to America what he did to Sodom and Gomorrah, does Mr. Mould think that he will be priveleged to just sit and observe from the safety of the sidelines?
God has a definite way of dealing with homosexuality and it ain't pretty. I, for one don't want our country to tempt Him in the matter.
To: weegee
Am not interested in reading the opinions of those who are in active rebellion against God (like that gay bishop and his supporters).
God is not mocked.

LOL! DU.com: A festering pool of psychotic mediocrity. I wonder how they are coming along on their Wellstone investigation.
To: cmsgop
Is Husker Du still around? And they get Rolling Stone mention? Wow.

All one has to do is criticize President Bush these days. Even the most pathetic moth-eaten, cobweb-covered has-beens can add one more minute to their used up fifteen by criticizing W.
To: conservative cat
Bashing this President goes over well with the editor in chief at RS.
