Maybe the reaction you describe is a normal human reaction to the unhealthy, such as the disgust that normal humans have at the sight and smell of feces. If you found on pile of feces on your couch, I doubt if your wanting it to be out of your space would be a case of copraphobia; you would just be repulsed. And I suspect you would also vocalize your disgust.

And that he was homosexual, not gay?

Meaning he just doesn't like to make the first move, he just likes to make friends with men he thinks are probably gay, invite them over to dinner, and hope they make a move on him?

Indeed, the diseases are ubiquitous, but there are ones that are more readily spread in the male homosexual crowd than just the usual STD's. Due to rectal tissue tearing, the spread of CMV, Hepatitis-B, and HIV are more prevalent among homosexual men than the general population.

Oh! and let's not forget those lovely anal warts...

I wasn't aware that there were uniquely "homosexual" diseases.

This is not a topic to be cute about.

The statistically disproportionate incidences of STD's in the homosexual community are sufficient to indicate that certain of these diseases, while not "unique", can be reasonably regarded as societally owned by this community of sickness, sadness, and death.

A lot of people on this forum object to the use of the term "gay" to mean "homosexual". I don't see why a homosexual or bisexual like Harrington is not also entitled to object to this usage. (Adopting the usage carries an implication of accepting, at least to a certain extent, gay liberation ideology. I would have thought a homosexual, as much as anybody else, can reject that ideology.)

I don't think any of us normal people spend time thinking about, let alone worrying about, what any homosexuals, male or female, are "up to" except when the subject is forced upon us. Again, I refer to my pile on the couch analogy.
