Dana Carvey Sees Schwarzenegger Pumping Up California Thu August 7, 2003 11:16 PM ET
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Comedian Dana Carvey, who for years parodied an Arnold Schwarzenegger-like bodybuilder, gave the real-life former Mr. Universe his vote of confidence on Thursday as he entered California politics.
"Arnold could flick Gray Davis with his little finger and he would fly across the room and he would land in his own baby poop," Carvey told Reuters in the thick, faux Austrian accent that was a staple of his Hans and Franz skits on the NBC television show "Saturday Night Live."
Republican Schwarzenegger announced on Wednesday that he would run for California governor on an October 7 ballot that will decide whether voters want to oust Democratic Gov. Gray Davis.
The Austrian-born actor appeared to pay tribute to Hans and Franz's favorite phrase -- "We want to pump you up!" -- when he announced his political intentions on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."
"I can promise you that when I go to Sacramento, I will pump up Sacramento," Schwarzenegger said.

Well, he's got the endorsement of Carvey. Now, if he can just swing the powerful groups led by Carrot Top and Mini Me, I think he's got this thing wrapped up.

Carvey? Yesterday in a post, Jamie Lee Curtis supported him. Definitely, Curtis was on the H'weirdo Boycott List because of her liberal leftist position against Bush and the Iraqi War. Be afraid Californians!

Obviously Kevin Nealon ("Franz") is holding out on Arnold. *chuckle*

"Arnold could flick Gray Davis with his little finger and he would fly across the room and he would land in his own baby poop" is the single best quote I have ever heard.

They are already in for Gary Coleman.

Arnold, working Kevin Nealon for his endorsement.

Arnold might have a shot, but as Rush Limbaugh has observed, what's to keep Davis from simply resigning? You don't think he's really going to stay until the bitter end?
To: Agnes Heep
It's my understanding that it no longer matters if Davis drops out. It's too late for him to just resign and pass the title of governor on to his lieutenant.

Yes, I heard as much this morning too. Davis could resign to save face, but the election will go ahead as planned.

I love Dana Carvey. I wish he would do a comedy tour. He had an HBO special a few years ago (probably close to 10 now!) that is still so hysterical! He was on Conan O'Brien a while back and was doing an impression of Leiberman and one of Ozzy Osbourne that has tears running down my cheeks!

"I love Dana Carvey. I wish he would do a comedy tour."Evidently he's back in good form now, but he's had some very serious heart problems.

Yes, that is really a horrible story at least it seems to have a good ending. He seems too young to have had the severe health problems that he did have, but from what I understand alot of it was genetic (like his cholesteral over 400).
