I work with many Indian student employees at a university computer lab. They are smart, quick learners, and have a good work ethic. This is a complete 180 from most of my American kids who think that society owes them everything. Also, another factor in this are the massive costs in benefits for American workers.

Just in our university alone there are hundreds of employees making a killing in salary, benefits, retirement packages, etc..., which far outstrip their productivity. Then, when jobs are outsourced overseas for 25% of the cost, everyone complains. Corporations exist to make a profit! I'm not a traitor, sympathetic to outsourcing, etc..., but this is a reality.

Gee, do you think the fact that only top elite students from India come here? Your mistake is one often made.... and misunderstanding of who GETS to study here. I'd put our best students against their best students any day.

Very well Mr. "No Right to a Job." These corps are not getting much of my sympathy when they come to me as a consumer or when they want me to salute some tax payer subsidy for them. People should do business with entities that support the economy from which they derive their income.

If you don't like BOA, or the offshoring policy of US Bank, there are many local banks you can do business with.

There is no reason to buy from the offshoring Dell when locally there are good white box computer makers.

If you need to buy computer programming or professional services, a local firm is probably going to charge very similar to what the Indian firm will. (That 5 to 1 salary differential is not going to lower prices for the US end customer. It is going to pad the bonuses of CEOs and executives.)

No kidding. I work in a university, and while my university isn't yet overrun with Indian/Asian teaching assistants, I know many that are because of EXACTLY the reasons you say. Moreover, at my school, I ask for a show of hands from the freshmen: how many want to go into owning their own business (maybe 1-2 out of 35); how many are in science, math, or engineering (maybe 2-3, in engineering. None in hard sciences and never anyone in math).

Harp and his cronies can whine and call names all they want but the fact is, they are in competition to produce value, and if the value isn't produced, the companies will flat leave.
