Robinson said he rejoiced with "gays" and lesbians that the church has "opened its doors to all God's people." While admitting his election "is a troubling decision for many in our church," Robinson says,
"I think God is doing a new thing here. He is telling us that he wants gay and lesbian people to be included. He wants them to know he is including them in his embrace. This is almost unstoppable." Of course God wants everyone in His Kingdom. He wouldn't turn away from a homosexual, just as He wouldn't turn away from someone else who was struggling in their sin. But, just like any other sin, He would expect them to change once they had met Christ.
