A few of us Air Force veterans were talking about the new BDU's at work today. One guy mentioned that the airmen would blend into the environment better if their BDU's had a coffee cup/personal computer/file cabinet pattern on them. It was good for a few laughs.
Actually, though, I kind of like them. It reminds me of the old tiger stripe camo used in Vietnam.

You guys will always be appreciated by the us grunts but ya have to admit that blue camo is kind of ridiculous. I mean what terrain are you trying to blend in with? the bottom of the sea?

I've said for years that our cammies should have crumpled up note paper, ink stains, telephone cords, pens, pencils, etc. on them. Then we'd be camouflaged.
We work indoors, or around airplanes, hangars and lots of concrete, most of the aircraft are painted in shades of gray. It's rare for us to have to blend in anywhere remotely jungle like and if that's the case there are uniforms for that purpose, just like the desert cammies that air force troops are issued now when they deploy.
Personally, I would prefer getting to wear a flight suit. They're simple, easy, comfortable and pretty practical. We are "airmen" after all.
Oh AND the new boots coming will NOT REQUIRE POLISHING!!! The shirt worn underneath the over shirt is a 3 button henley that your name and US Air Force are embroidered on.
If this new uniform does become the official plan, they will have to change the colors of the sew on rank insignia, the patches, the name tapes, the US AF tapes, everything.
I can't tell whether I like it yet. I'm just getting used to the idea.

...old tiger stripe camo used in Vietnam. Saw the History Channel thing on camo. The tiger stripe failed because it was made in Asia with cheap dyes.
They faded/ran pretty quick and stuck out.
