The Air Force logo is interspersed
throughout the new Air Force test
utility uniform. The blue, gray and
green tiger-stripe camouflage
ensemble includes many new
features intended to increase
functionality while providing a
distinctive look for the 21st century
airmen. The uniforms will undergo
wear-testing beginning in January 4.

Chief Master Sgt. Ricky Arnold,
manager for the Air Force's
Survivor Evasion Resistance and
Escape special forces program,
models a prototype of the proposed
utility uniform, featuring mostly
blues and grays and a little green.
Arnold is part of the 3 percent of
airmen who need to be concerned
with camouflaging properties of a
battle dress uniform, and
preliminary tests indicate the new
blue BDU is camouflaged in 80
percent of tested environments

I was thinking of rather large lacy ruffles at the cuffs.

The Air Force is trying to look like a military outfit again!!!
The "civilians-in-uniform" will never look military!
They could try to put on a set of Marine Corps Dress-Blues and STILL they would look like the airforce!
ps.... they STILL get all the BEST equipment though

I think the pattern's pretty cool, but for night-time use only.

...with the no-need-to-starch topping list...Yeah, okay. They told us that about the BDUs in the Army. Funny, we still had to starch them anyway.

Next they'll be demanding to plant blue spruces everywhere so that those blue bdu's will blend.
I hope this isn't Rumsfeld's idea of streamlining.

A few of us Air Force veterans were talking about the new BDU's at work today. One guy mentioned that the airmen would blend into the environment better if their BDU's had a coffee cup/personal computer/file cabinet pattern on them. It was good for a few laughs.
Actually, though, I kind of like them. It reminds me of the old tiger stripe camo used in Vietnam.

Air Force PE testing proves indispensible for their new uniform and equipment.

Private in ARMY Basic thinks "This sucks".
Sgt in the 4th Armored Division says " I wish It sucked a little more here".
SFC in the 101st Airborne say " Man I love it when it sucks here in Iraq".
Airman in the air conditioned billets Stateside " WHAT NO CABLE TV. THIS SUCKS"!

If I were to lie in the middle of the grass
yes, youd see me, he said. But hiding next to the tree, I blend in because of the underside of some of the leaves. I was standing next to a blue spruce [in testing] and it worked great. LOL!
He had the cojones to say this out loud!
To: steplock
ps.... they STILL get all the BEST equipment though The AirForce is part of the military? ROFLMAO! I'll never forget the time I saw AF guys set-up a GP Medium to large size tent in the field...the damn thing had a portable air conditioner. LOL
