Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton swept through a bookstore here yesterday afternoon, signed close to 2,000 copies of her best-selling memoir, "Living History," in two hours and left behind a dazed crowd of admirers and a dozen Hillary haters. Third Place Books had issued 1,200 passes to customers beforehand. Audrey Nilles, who began planning for the event in May when she learned of Clinton's visit, took the day off work -- along with many others -- and arrived at 8 a.m. with a bundle of books under her arm.
Is it 2000 or 1200??? Probably more like 100.

Notice that it said that she signed 2000 copies. Since this is Hillary, it doesn't necessarily mean that all 2000 were sold.

I was there. I didn't do any crowd estimate (because I coudn't see the entire line from our position) but I will confirm WAY over 100. What I did see would not be too far from the 1000 - 1200 "admirers." I did note that many of those who walked in past us were carrying two or more books in hand. (Were these "presales" to the signing event?)
