If Davis steps down, and Bustamonte takes over, the recall is NIL and NO ARNOLD! I am no expert on California election law, nor do I live in California. But from what others have posted in the past, regardless of a Davis resignation the recall proceeds and the elected persons becomes governor.
And No Arnold is not a bad thing. As Rush said "Think Bloomberg with muscles." The guy is a raving left winger on most matters. He doesnt even begin to approach what could remotely be called a conservative.

Rush was surprisingly anti-Arnold and hypocritical today. How many times has he lectured us (usually in relation to abortion) that it's better to win elections and not get everything we want in a candidate rather than stubbornly stick to a principle that's sure to result in a loss. Many times - MANY times over the years - yet he seems not to be taking his own advice in this case.
To me, half a conservative in office is better than none.
