If he does resign, then we'll know what Blubba's been up to... What Mr. & Mrs. Blubba are up to is overturning every rock to see what they could use against Arnold as their credibility is at stake. Don't forget the hildebeast was on Leno praising the merits of Davis recently and we've all heard reports that the Xlintoons were going to campaign vigorously for Davis. They run the risk of plenty of egg on their faces.

I too collected signatures for this recall as I did in the first recall. I couldn't agree more that Davis must be dumped. Arnie jumping in the race is in our favor, however, I'm not sure he will be a good choice to lead us out of such a dire crisis.
I am hearing more of what I want to hear from McClintock. Sadly, it doesn't look like he has much support.
I could support Arnie at the last minute if it means defeating someone like Feinstein or Bustamonte.

Doesn't sound as though Arnold's too worried, though. Not too sure what to make of that.
To: Howlin
Absolutely!
To: Joe Hadenuf
Let us hope that the leftist/socialist, poor excuse for a legislature gets the message. A little fear in their less than humble hearts would be a good thing(even a whole lot)

You remember her too from the FL fiasco? I couldn't believe her giving the ruling to Gore and then it was dead wrong.

FYI From the California Election Code available on line.
11302. If a vacancy occurs in an office after a recall petition is filed against the vacating officer, the recall election shall nevertheless proceed. The vacancy shall be filled as provided by law, but any person appointed to fill the vacancy shall hold office only until a successor is selected in accordance with Article 4(commencing with Section 11360) or Article 5 (commencing with Section 11380), and the successor qualifies for that office.
11382 (c) No person whose recall is being sought may be a candidate to succeed himself or herself at a recall election nor to succeed any other member of the same governing board whose recall is being sought at the same election.

Isn't the wife of Stephen Reinhardt (the Ninth Circus judge) a big shot in the L.A. ACLU?
Yes. Ramona Ripston, his spouse, is Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation of Southern California.

Calif. Supreme Court dismisses all recall suits
Reuters, 08.07.03, 7:47 PM ETSAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - California's Supreme Court dismissed all five cases Thursday that challenge various aspects of the unprecedented Oct. 7 recall ballot against Gov. Gray Davis, including one brought by Davis himself.
"The California Supreme Court today unanimously denied relief in four of the five cases filed before it involving the special recall election set for October 7, 2003," the court said in a statement accompanying the order. "In the fifth case...the court denied relief by a five to two vote."
The highest profile case challenging the recall was filed by Davis seeking to delay the election until next March and allow him to be on the list of replacement candidates should a majority vote to recall.
The rulings were the latest news in fast-moving developments over the past day which have included an announced run for governor by actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and abrupt departure of the man who bankrolled the recall petition drive, Republican congressman Darrell Issa.

Well, apparently I got dinner finished and didn't miss the press conference. Do you suppose Gray is on the phone with Clinton right now, frantically trying to figure out what to do?
