"With the Lt. Gov. on the ballot, we want as many Dems as possible, so I say go Sanchez go!" Absolutely. We want to divvy up the Dems' votes as many ways as possible.

Wasn't there some controversy about this Loretta Sanchez when she ran for her current seat? Illegal aliens registered to vote? She upstaged the seating Pubby. He alleged some serious voting irregularities concerning her election.

Goodness help California if Sanchez would ever be elected to the top spot. She's the Sheila Jackson Lee of the latino congresspeople.

There were some credible charges of vote fraud (and I'm one who tends to doubt such charges).
Isn't there something about whether she is "really" hispanic? Like, "Sanchez" is her husband's name or soething? I don't remember for sure ....

I hate to disapoint you but Sanchez is her maiden name (as is her sisters' who was also elected to the House in 2002). And she really is Hispanic. Her husband name is Stephen Brixey.
