She also doesn’t know how proud I am of my Cherokee ancestry, which gave me a great ability to tan instead of sunburn, and which made my eyes as dark as hers. Haha. Same here. (Although I wouldn't say proud as much as I'd say grateful.)

I'm afraid "proud" is appropriate. I am grateful, but I do have too much pride in my brown eyes and tan.

Cordell Walker was half-Cherokee. ;-) I catch Texas Ranger in the reruns. It was one of the best Chuck Norris ever did and it a homage to all things Texan.
