I agree that the issue of outsourcing and US job contraction will make A difference, not THE difference. 2004 will still be dominated by issues of national security and more generic economic issues. I have a hard time seeing GWB jaw-boning the issue as such. He is a true-believing free trader and open borders person.

Many of us here are also free traders. I just want other countries to allow our goods and services in without restrictions as well. Since they don't play fair, slap the tariffs on until they do.
If China and India actually allowed their currencies to reflect their true value, I'd have no problem competing with Gopal the programmer... since his salary in US dollars would sky rocket. But with these country's trade restrictions, subsidies, and massive currency manipulation and protection we poor slobs have no chance.
